Virtual Meeting Rooms

Need to meet with your group remotely? Book an LCPL virtual meeting room!

Virtual Meeting Rooms are available for non-commercial use by local not-for-profit organizations, governmental agencies, and educational entities.

If your group has not already been approved to use our meeting rooms, please start by filling out a meeting room application.

How to Use a Virtual Meeting Room

Virtual meeting rooms are subject to the same rules set forth in the LCPL Public Meeting Room Policy.

Scheduling:

  • Meetings must begin during library open hours:
    • Monday through Thursday from 11:30am to 6:30pm
    • Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30am to 4:30 pm
    • Exceptions: Days when the library is closed for holidays or emergencies.
    However, meetings are permitted to continue beyond library hours.
  • Meetings must be booked at least 1 week in advance and may be scheduled up to 6 months in advance.
  • Meetings can be booked in half-hour blocks, for up to 4 hours
  • You may have up to 3 meetings scheduled for your group at a time
  • Book your meeting by calling 219-769-3541. Once booked, library staff will email you the invitation information to share with your attendees.
  • Organizers are asked to join the meeting 15 minutes prior to start time so that library staff can familiarize you with the controls and transfer host access.
  • If organizers do not join 15 minutes prior to the start time, the library reserves the right to cancel the meeting. 

Features: 

LCPL provides this service via Zoom Video Communications. These meeting rooms include:

  • 100 person capacity
  • Video chat
  • Text chat
  • Screen sharing

Technology Required:

  • A computer or mobile device (such as a smart phone or tablet) 
    • Zoom is available on Windows, Mac OS, Linux, iOS, Android, and Chrome OS
  • An internet connection or a mobile data plan (carrier charges may apply)
  • A microphone
    • If your device doesn't have a built-in microphone, a regular telephone will also work for audio access only (long-distance charges may apply)
  • A webcam is helpful, but not required.
