Make a cyanotype print using a chemical solution, found objects, and the sun's rays. Registration required. Please wear clothing that can be stained! Ages 12-18.
Cyanotype prints use a chemical solution and UV light from the sun to make blue and white images. The solution is applied to a surface (such as paper or fabric), then plants, trinkets, and/or other flat objects are placed on top. Once exposed to UV light, the areas covered by objects will remain a bright white and the uncovered areas will become a deep blue. We will use paper for this program. Supplies will be provided, but you may bring objects you'd like to use.
The cyanotype solution will stain skin and clothing once they are exposed to sunlight. Please wear clothing that can be permanently stained.
