Join us at the library for a cooking program that teaches kitchen skills, nutrition, and sustainability through interactive lessons and tasty food while promoting healthy eating and food science.
Teen Chef Academy is an interactive, hands-on cooking program designed to engage teens through learning essential skills in the kitchen while fostering an understanding of nutrition, sustainability, and food science. Using a mobile cart equipped with all the tools necessary for cooking, teens can learn about the benefits and joys of cooking while connecting with their peers. The curriculum covers a variety of topics, from basic knife skills to creating balanced meals, with an emphasis on using fresh, local ingredients. Through practical lessons, teens will gain confidence in the kitchen, learn to appreciate healthy eating habits, and develop a deeper connection to the food they eat. *Due to our limited, perishable supplies, we may only accommodate those who reserve one day in advance of the program.
