May 18: Graveyard Tourism
Location: Merrillville Branch
Time: 1:00 - 3:00 PM
Topic: Former Purdue Professor Dale Hoppe, cemetery enthusiast, will present photos and stories of his discoveries in cemeteries around the United States. Join us for a cross-country tour of cemeteries to view and discuss the final resting places of the famous and sometimes infamous. See the ways, from quite simple to very elaborate, that people wish to mark their final home here on earth. This will include people of local and national interest. Most of our genealogy classes are offered at the Merrillville branch, where the Indiana Room and Genealogy room are housed. You can feel free to use these excellent resources on your own, too!
