We congratulated our top participants in the 2017 Read-a-Thon with a celebratory breakfast!

17th Annual Literary Tea: April 29
The LCPL Foundation was pleased to welcome author Catherine Lanigan as our guest speaker at this year's literary tea! Ms. Lanigan lead an inspiring discussion on her real stories of angelic intervention.

The Evolution of Black Music in America: February 16
We celebrated the roots and impact of black music on American culture with first-hand accounts of what it was like to be a black entertainer in mid-20th century America from Willie Rogers of legendary gospel group The Soul Stirrers and Billy Shelton of The Spaniels Forever. The evening was MC'd by Tom Lounges.

A Haunted Evening at the Library with Ursula Bielski, Author of Haunted Gary and
owner of Chicago Hauntings Tours

We were delighted to welcome Ursula Bielski to the Merrillville Branch for a
special presentation about her work as a paranormal investigator of
Chicagoland phenomena.
